2024 Olympics (Summer Games)
The 2024 Summer Olympics will take place in Paris, France from July 26 to August 11. Some events will be held in the two days before the Opening Ceremony on Friday, July 26. The two-plus weeks of programming anticipates at least 39 sports and 329 events with 10,500 athletes attending the games.
Venues set to host various competitions include the Bercy Arena for artistic gymnastics, basketball and trampoline, the Champ de Mars Arena for judo and wrestling, Elancourt Hill for cycling and mountain biking and more. Football matches will be played at the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium, La Beaujoire Stadium, Bordeaux Stadium, Parc des Princes, Marseille Stadium and Nice Stadium to name a few. Beach Volleyball will take place at a stadium below the Eiffel Tower, and equestrian as well as pentathlon events will take place at the Château de Versailles.
The Opening Ceremony will consist of a four-mile-long procession of around 160 boats down the Seine River, ending at Trocadero where an Eiffel Tower lights show will conclude the activities.
Coverage of the athletic events will take place variously on NBC for live broadcast and via Peacock, NBCOlympics.com, NBC.com and the NBC/NBC Sports apps for streaming. Telemundo will air Spanish-language coverage of the Opening Ceremony starting at 1 p.m. ET on the 26th as well as other sporting events like soccer alongside Universo.
