Jamie Lee Curtis is cherishing every moment with her onscreen daughter during the final days of filming Freakier Friday.
The Academy Award winner paid tribute to co-star Lindsay Lohan in a heartfelt post on Saturday as they prepare to wrap production on the long-awaited sequel to their 2003 Disney adaptation of Freaky Friday, which premieres in 2025.
“The last FRIDAY of this FREAKIEST FRIDAY or shall I call it CRYDAY,” Curtis captioned a black-and-white selfie. “We still have a couple days left next week, but it’s winding down and this morning as I arrived at work and looked at the hundreds of people gathering together to make it for the fans, shooting the movie in California, I’m feeling especially grateful to my ULTIMATE movie daughter, @lindsaylohan without whom we could not have made this movie. Ever. She gifted me a @suziekondi shirt after I complimented her on hers and I wore it today in honor of her. Off to wig and work. Thanks for all the @disneyd23 LOVE! It was LEGENDARY!”

Lohan wrote in the comments section, “So much [love] and gratitude for YOU and this WONDERFUL experience and Many future fun times together to come!!”
In Freaky Friday, the pair starred as single mother Tess and teen daughter Anna Coleman, who switch bodies after opening an enchanted fortune cookie and have to walk a day in each other’s shoes before getting back to normal.
Written by Jordan Weiss and directed by Nisha Ganatra, the sequel sees Anna all grown up with a daughter of her own while also preparing to take on a stepdaughter in her new marriage. With her new family dynamic, a new version of the body swap will ensue.
Filming kicked off in June, as Curtis and Lohan shared a photo shoot in front of their neighboring dressing room trailers. “We’re back!” wrote Lohan.
The duo revealed the sequel’s title earlier this month at the D23 Expo, where Lohan raved that the movie is “more fun, it’s more emotional, and it’s all for you guys.”
Manny Jacinto, Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan have been cast in the sequel, along with returning cast members Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao.
